A New Year

Scarlett's got the whole day planned out...and this is before we're even out of bed. We will do snowmen, snowballs, lip balm, a movie, and maybe a board game or two. Scarlett's job is similar to that of an activities director in an old age home. She has to somehow motivate the lethargic slovenly bodies of all the tired old people, who just want to sit down undisturbed for a few minutes, out of their states of inertia. She doesn't take no for an answer and she isn't easily distracted from her objective. She doesn't get growled at because her steel determination is camouflaged by extreme cuteness and a toss of long black hair. Scarlett is 7. She's my niece. She is a Snowball Warrior.

See the Korean Beef Noodles (found in Main Dishes) that my brother-in-law Richard made for dinner to welcome in 2011 and the Potato Wedges (found in Miscellaneous) that the darling Daughter made for lunch (who knew she could cook?!).

Happy New Year!
